Meeting 2: July 13th, 2008

The theme of this month's meeting was how to find fun and value in work. As Cara wrote long ago, it can be hard to follow through on our ideas, not just because we lack a community of sympathetically minded people but also because our end goals can at times seem so very, very far away. We all know that our work is valuable, but frustration can be disheartening, and, to speak personally, when I get disheartened, I get disillusioned with the entire point of my project. Finding ways to rekindle the fun will hopefully rekindle our motivation, enjoyment, and sense of value in our projects.

Cara’s Goals:
1. Create a Strategic Plan
2. Make a Chilkoot cartoon

Natasha’s Goals:
1. Think about how to make her practice more fun by merge the qualities of her two practices
2. Develop a print portfolio
3. Make THE PAINTING
4. Plan for animatronics sculpture

Amy’s Goals:
1. Think about what makes her feel valued at work
2. Where is the fun in work?

Rachel’s Goals:
1. Designate fun time for writing (ie: fictional fun)
2. Keep track of time usage
3. Come up with the audience (three individuals) for the book
